Mary Jane Sheader was born in August 1835 in Sussex England, the daughter of George Sheder and Jane Sheder (néé Carman).Lady Nugent", a Barque of 535 Tons, which arrived in Sydney, Australia, on the 27th November 1838. She accompanied her parents and her younger brother on the voyage. The ships records indicate that she was 3 years old. After her husbands death she became the Licencee, from 1st July 1879 to the 30th June 1880, of the Royal Albert Hotel at the corner of Troy and Ivy Streets, Darlington. This hotel is also noted as being on the corner of Old Newtown Road and Ivy Street, Darlington.t Cemetery,at Rookwood, NSW.
