    • Jane Carman (or Carmen) was born in April 1813 at Iden, Sussex, the daughter of Mary Carman. Iden was a "Doomsday" Village. She was baptised on the 19th June 1814 at All Saints (C.E.) Iden. She married George Sheader aka George Ashdown.

      She died on the 13th May 1866 aged 53 years, at Redfern, NSW and was buried as Jane Ashdown on the 15th May 1866 at Camperdown (C of E) Cemetery, NSW,. This cemetery is adjacent to St.Stephens (C of E). The cemetery is bounded by Lennox Street, Church Street and Federation Road Camperdown and is now the Camperdown Memorial Park.
