The "Tenterfield Star" dated 13 Jul 1942, reported on thepassing of Mr J B Lillicrap:With the passing of Mr J B Lillicrap itmoved from our midst one who has played a big part in the developmentof the Tenterfield Show Society. He had been a competitor for over50 years and his exploits as a horseman in his early days arewellremembered by many of the old hands. His interest had neverwaned of later years. He was a competitor in the ring and on theadministrative side and also a Committeeman right up to his death. It is most regrettable that, while he was such a good horseman and anexcellent judge of horses, his death was primarily caused by anaccident while riding a horse on 27th May at Wunglebung when hesuffered a broken thigh. His probate notice appears in the"Tenterfield Star" dated 23rd June 1942, stockman deceased.Administration of his estate was granted to his wife.
