  • Notes
    • Vic's story as told to me by my mother was that in 1926 Vic Stewartleft his wife and daughters and returned to his native New Zealandtaking his son Vicky with him. Neither of them ever returned toAustralia. However, we now know that Vic saw his daughter Joyceduring the 1940s. Just one of those old family stories embellishedfor effect!

...it was sad to lose Dad who was a part of my life for almost seventy years. There were times when I felt guilty not living closer and being able to interact more but, as Mum said, you have your own life to live. He was born July 10 1922 and died on August 29 2019 in Auckland, essentially of "old age" although seventy years of "roll your owns" gave him breathing issues which stressed his heart. Better than cancer though, as poor Les and you had to suffer through. Doesn't time speed up later in life! Over one year already for Les. I feel for you in these times. Vic senior's son Barrie Stewart, from his second marriage to Edith, died on Dec 8, 2018 at 81. He was married to Rosemary and had two adopted kids: Hugh and Maude. Barrie was the favoured son: private schools, Pharmaceutical college, nothing but the best. Dad and Barrie had no contact with each other for years.
